Use the Free choice response item if you want your student to answer a question from different ways:
- A short text
- A long text
- A number
Open your module
Click on My Resources the homepage menu.
Find your module and open it.
Click Edit.
Building the Item
Click + Add new Item > Free choice response.
Select a title.
Then you can pick a type of display:
- Short text: can be evaluated automatically and only one line is expected for the answer.
- Long text: can not be evaluated automatically and a paragraph of one or more lines is expected for the answer.
- Number: A number is expected for the answer and can be evaluated automatically.
Note that capital letters are not recognized by the item.
Do not forget to save your module after adding this item!
